Jamal Crawford did his best Klay Thompson impression to cap a solid Monday night that had all but one NBA home team win. That helped us to a 4-1 mark on the night (376-191 on the year) and hopefully helped you win some cash in the process.
If not, we all have another chance to do just that on Tuesday, as six more games come our way. All but two of tonight’s contests are fairly evenly matched, which could make our NBA picks for Tuesday a bit tougher than on Monday. Let’s break down all six games to see which teams we should be siding with:
Milwaukee and Miami have very similar records, but the Heat will be searching for their first win between these two tonight in South Beach. Milwaukee took the first two meetings, but Miami has found a budding star in block artist Hassan Whiteside and could start to morph into a more consistent playoff contender. They’ve won two straight, so we’ll take the odds of them winning a third and getting their first win of the year over the visiting Bucks.
Pick: Heat 102, Bucks 98
The battle for the West’s Southeastern division could be a long and grueling one, as three teams are separated by 2.5 games and all are within striking distance of first place. Memphis and Dallas are two of them, so this is obviously a huge game for both squads. The Grizz hang their hat on defense, while the Mavs can control the pace with a very aggressive offense. Playing at home, we like Dallas tonight.
Pick: Mavs 109, Grizz 107
Chicago got worked by 10 last time they faced the Warriors, who happen to be the best team in basketball right now, as well as pretty unbeatable at home. The game is in Golden State, so it’s really hard to consider taking the Bulls as a smart choice.
Pick: Warriors 106, Bulls 103
Indy just snapped an ugly six-game losing skid and is at home tonight, but they’ll be without C.J. Miles and host a pretty talented Toronto bunch. The Raptors aren’t as fierce on defense as they were earlier in the year, but DeMar DeRozan is coming along finally and this is still a very good, balanced team. They should look to win their third straight tonight.
Pick: Raptors 104, Pacers 94
Detroit has made major strides in the past month or so, but losing star point guard Brandon Jennings is a huge blow. D.J. Augustin can hold his own and the Pistons will fight hard, but that may not be enough at home against a Cavs team (winners of six straight) that seems to finally be putting the pieces together.
Pick: Cavs 112, Pistons 108
John Wall gets a treat tonight as he faces a Lakers defense that is terrible in general, but specifically struggles against point guards. That should allow him to get some easy buckets, and also set up his teammates in a game that figures to largely be over by the half.
Pick: Wizards 109, Lakers 92
