Rodney Stuckey went off, Dallas couldn’t handle the Cavs and the Pistons couldn’t stop losing as Tuesday night came to a close and we ended with a 5-1 record (551-279 on the year). Had the Pistons finally stepped up and ended an ugly losing streak against the hapless Lakers, we could have been undefeated on the night. Instead, Reggie Jackson couldn’t find his shot and L.A. became a problem yet again for NBA bettors.
The good news is we don’t have to worry about the Lake Shows messing up our NBA betting on Big Wednesday, since they’ve got he night off. We have another 20 teams to worry about, though, as we get a tough 10-game night. Let’s try to make our way through the chaos as we run through our NBA picks for Wednesday, 3/11/2015:
Chicago has had a rough go of it with numerous injuries, but they’re still battling hard and it’s the Sixers.
Pick: Bulls 106, 76ers 94
Charlotte had a nice five-game winning streak snapped so they’ll look to bounce back at home. Sacramento still has some firepower via DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay but they’ve been struggling for a while now and are especially abysmal (8-22) on the road.
Pick: Hornets 101, Kings 98
Boston can fill it up offensively, but they bring nothing to the table on defense. Jeff Green will look to go off against his former team, while the Grizz are too good to let this one slip away.
Pick: Grizz 106, Celtics 101
Miami is banged up and are in serious danger of sliding out of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Ditto for the Nets, but they’ve been worse (losers of four straight) and head into a tough road game tonight.
Pick: Heat 103, Nets 101
These two split their previous meetings earlier this year and neither is playing great basketball at the moment. Milwaukee is at home, though, and is the only one of the two that plays any consistent defense. The Magic are also on the second of a back to back, so everything points to a Bucks win.
Pick: Bucks 104, Magic 97
In one of the best games of the night, a banged up Chris Paul will lead his Clips to OKC to try to slow down Russell Westbrook. The Thunder and Clippers have both been playing fairly well and are down one stud each, so it comes down to Westbrook’s insane tear. It’s impossible to bet against him right now.
Pick: Thunder 107, Clippers 104
The Nuggets have turned things on offensively lately and are at home tonight, but as good as they’ve been recently it’s still hard to see them taking down the well oiled machine that is the Atlanta Hawks.
Pick: Hawks 106, Nuggets 100
The Wolves and Suns have played three intense games already this year, with the Suns leading the series, 2-1. Things have changed due to injuries and trades, but we know for sure we can expect offense considering either of these teams has scored less than 100 points just once in this matchup. With Brandon Knight out tonight, look for the T’Wolves to even this thing up.
Pick: T’Wolves 108, Suns 105
Detroit has dropped seven in a row and now they have to go into Golden State to try to get back on track. That’s not going to end well.
Pick: Warriors 109, Pistons 102
James Harden has destroyed the Blazers in two games this year, but it’s worth noting Portland just doesn’t lose at home very often (26-6). With Dwight Howard still on the mend, the advantage stays with Portland on their home floor.
Pick: Blazers 103, Rockets 101
