The Final Four includes Duke vs. North Carolina and Villanova vs. Kansas. These are two interesting matchups, and your March Madness 2022 Final Four betting picks should take into account how the teams fair against each other.

Duke vs. North Carolina Prediction

No. 2-seeded Duke will go against no. 8-seeded North Carolina in a final four showdown involving two ACC teams. Both schools have impressive rosters that feature dynamic playmakers on both ends of the court.

It’s not an easy matchup, but I agree with the bookmakers who believe that the Blue Devils have the upper hand here. I’m confident that Duke can cover the spread, even though the team has struggled to do so this season in neutral site games.

All of the team’s starters are capable of scoring in the double digits, providing offensive relief whenever needed. With a well-balanced attack, they can easily overwhelm North Carolina. And let’s not forget Duke’s traditions in The Big Dance.

This is also Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s last season in what has been a prolific career in college basketball. His accolades include 5 NCAA Championships and 13 ACC regular-season titles.

A key factor for the first of my Final Four March Madness predictions is Duke’s defense prowess. The starting center Mark Williams is averaging 2.69 blocks per contest, making him one of the best rim protectors in college basketball.

North Carolina plays against Duke in the ACC, and the two teams have already faced each other twice this season with a split record of 1-1. The Tar Heels won the most recent matchup against the Blue Devils by a score of 94-81.

North Carolina is incredibly proficient in terms of their offense, averaging roughly 78 points per game. They also have four players averaging more than 10 points per game, and the team shoots incredibly well from the three-point range.

North Carolina is an above-average team in forcing turnovers and defending two-point and perimeter shooting. The Tar Heels also rank among the top 25 schools in the country with an impressive free-throw accuracy of roughly 77%.

North Carolina, having already played against the Blue Devils this season, will know what to expect from Duke. However, the Tar Heels face a major uphill battle – this Duke roster is simply too talented and they’re hitting their stride at the right time.

The desire to deliver a proper farewell to Coach K is also part of the equation that shouldn’t be underestimated.

Duke is the superior team to North Carolina and the extra motivation is certainly there. I’m confident that the Blue Devils can win the game and also cover the spread.

Villanova vs. Kansas Betting Preview and Prediction

No. 2-seeded Villanova will face off against no. 1-seeded Kansas in a tough matchup. The March Madness Final Four betting odds favor the Kansas Jayhawks, but let’s have a closer look at both sides.

The talent and desire to win are obvious when you look at any Kansas game so far. On the other hand, the Wildcats have enough star power to match up with and upset the Jayhawks.

Keep in mind that Villanova also has plenty of experience on their side – starters Collin Gillespie and Jermaine Samuels were both a part of the 2018 Wildcats squad that won the National Championship. Many NBA analysts also project Gillespie to be a second round pick in the upcoming draft.

Villanova led the Big East in three-point scoring, which would often help sway the momentum in their favor against league opponents. The Wildcats’ offense also ranks among the top ten in overall efficiency.

When it comes to college basketball betting, you also simply can’t overlook Villanova’s impressive 2021-22 résumé. With key regular-season victories over teams including UCLA, Tennessee, and Providence, the belief is that the Wildcats can go toe-to-toe with any team.

Kansas, on the other hand, is the only no. 1 seed left in the tournament – the team also has one of the best trios in the country with Ochai Agbaji, Jalen Wilson, and Christian Braun.

It’s worth noting, however, that the Jayhawks struggled to put up points against a no. 4-seeded Providence team in the Sweet 16. Providence limited Agbaji and Braun to 11 combined points, as Kansas only completed 13.3% of their shots from three-point range.

If Kansas expects to win this game, they’ll need to shore up their offense significantly. However, all the momentum right now is with Villanova, a team that is consistently making appearances in the Final Four. If there’s any upset that can potentially happen, it’s Villanova defeating Kansas.
