The Arizona Diamondbacks open their season against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Dodger Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Starting on top of the mound will be Hyun-Jin Ryu who posted a 7-3 record in 15 starts last season. The 31-year old left hander allowed 23 runs on 68 hits with 9 home runs and 15 walks while striking out 89 batters. Hyun-Jin Ryu had an ERA of 1.97 and a WHIP of 1.01.
Ryu didn’t figure in a decision against the Diamondbacks in three starts last season. He had and ERA of 3.75 while pitching over a dozen innings against Arizona. For his career, Ryu 3-3 in 13 starts against the Diamondbacks and has an ERA of 3.7 against Arizona.

Former Dodger Zack Greinke will start on top of the hill for Arizona. The 35-year old right hander started in 33 games last season and posted a record of 15-11. Greinke allowed a total of 77 runs on 181 hits with 28 home runs and 43 walks while fanning 199 batters. The 15-year veteran had an ERA of 3.21 and a WHIP of 1.08 last season.
Greinke was 3-1 with an ERA of 3.86 against the Dodgers. For his career, he is 7-5 with an ERA of 3.77 in a total of 15 lifetime starts against the Dodgers.

Greinke was 3-1 in four starts against the Dodgers last season but the Diamondbacks lost a lot during the offseason Paul Goldschmidt was traded to the Cardinals while A.J. Pollock signed with the Dodgers. Left hander Patrick Corbin is also now with the Nationals, leaving Arizona with questions more than answers entering the start of the season. Prediction: Los Angeles Dodgers.
