The Indianapolis Colts travel to M&T Bank Stadium to test the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.
Indianapolis is coming off its first win of the season against the Miami Dolphins in Week 4. The Colts scored to unanswered points as they took a 20-3 lead which they never relinquished. The Colts are 1-3 SU and 2-2 ATS after four weeks played this season and they are in second place in the woeful AFC South Division team standings.
Baltimore has won three straight games after losing a close game to the Las Vegas Raiders on opening week. The Ravens dealt the Denver Broncos their first loss of the season while playing on the road last week. The Ravens are 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS after four games played and they are the top team in the AFC North Division.
The Colts lead their all-time head-to-head series at 8-5 but the Ravens have won four out of their last five encounters including a 24-10 road win in their last game played on November 8, 2020.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts rank 25th in the league in passing offense at only 214 yards through the air per game and are 15th in rushing offense with an average of 112 yards per contest. Indianapolis is scoring an average of 20.8 points per game which is 21st in the league and they are 17th in scoring defense at 24.3 points per game allowed.
Carson Wentz is 88 for 138 passing with 920 passing yards, 5 touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Wentz has added 68 rushing yards but he has been sacked 10 times this season. Jonathan Taylor has rushed for 274 yards on 58 carries while Michael Pittman Jr. leads them with 23 catches for 279 receiving yards. Zach Pascal has caught three TD passes and has 15 catches for 156 receiving yards.
Linebackers Darius Leonard and Bobby Okereke lead the defense with 28 tackles each. Defensive end Kemoko Turay has 2.0 quarterback sacks while three different players have one interception each for Indianapolis.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are 13th in the NFL in passing at 255.5 passing yards per game and they are the third-best rushing team in the league with an average of 164.5 rushing yards per game. Baltimore is also ranked 8th overall in scoring at 26.3 points per game and they are 11th in scoring defense at 23 points per game allowed this season.
Lamar Jackson has completed 75 of 124 passes for 1,077 passing yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions. Jackson is also the Ravens’ top rusher with 279 yards on 42 carries with two rushing touchdowns. Latavius Murray also has rushed for 3 TD with 151 rushing yards on 44 carries. Who Wins?
Indianapolis is 1-4 SU in their last five games played. The Colts are 1-1 SU in two home games played this season, and 8-1 SU in their last nine games played in October. On the other hand, the Ravens are 9-2 SU in their last 11 games played. Baltimore is also 7-0 SU in their last seven October games, 7-1 SU in their last eight games as betting favorites.
Please Note
The Baltimore Ravens are the better team on both ends of the field. Baltimore is 8th in the league in scoring and 12th in scoring defense. The Ravens defense allowed 17 and 7 points in their last two games and their most recent outing, they held down the Denver Broncos to only 254 yards of offense.
The Colts rank 21st in the league in scoring and are barely breaching the 20 point scoring mark. Wide receiver T.J. Hilton is out of this game with an injury and that should compound their offensive woes. Wentz isn’t the most mobile QB out there and he is also dealing with sprained ankles. He will be facing a Ravens defense that already has registered 10 total sacks this season.
Indianapolis will have trouble moving the ball here. Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson should be too much to handle for the Colts defense, especially with his running game.
Prediction: Baltimore Ravens -335

Odds from BetOnline as of 10/11/2021
The Ravens seemed to have found their rhythm on defense in the last two weeks. That’s going to be trouble for a Colts team that has struggled to score and who will be without their top wide receiver. Baltimore has won 15 out of its last 16 games against opponents with losing records and they have done so by an average winning margin of 17 points per game. Give me the Ravens to cover the spread as well.
Prediction: Ravens -7
The total has gone over in 9 out of the last 13 games played by the Colts. The over is 15-6 in their last 21 October games, 5-2 in their last seven Monday games, 5-2 in their last seven games after a straight up win, 5-1 in their last six Week 5 games, 7-0 in their last seven games against an opponent with a winning record, 4-1 in their last five games as an underdog, and 4-1 in their last five games played on the road.

Under

Odds from BetOnline as of 10/11/2021
The Colts have seen the total surpass 46 points only once in their four games this season. On the other hand, the Ravens opened their season with totals of 60 and 71 but they have turned in back-to-back unders in their previous two assignments with the total not going over 37 in both games. The total has gone under in 12 out of the last 13 meetings between these two teams and the under is also 4-0 in their last four meetings in Baltimore.
Prediction: Under 46
