The Sacramento Kings visit the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night in a battle between two Western Conference teams.
Sacramento is 30-23 SU on the season and they are a surprise third in the latest Western Conference team standings. The Kings are also the current Pacific Division leaders as they are one game up on the L.A. Clippers. Sacramento is just an even 5-5 SU in their last 10 games played.
Houston is at the bottom of the Western Conference team standings with a record of 13-41 SU. The Rockets are one of only two teams in the West that have yet to win 20 games this season. They are 3-7 SU in their last 10 games played and head to Wednesday’s game with three straight losses.
The Kings lead their season series 3-0 with all wins coming by 20 or more point.
The Kings returned to their winning ways after getting De’Aaron Fox back last Monday as Sacramento defeated the Houston Rockets in a two-game set. The Kings built an early lead in that game before allowing the Rockets to come within five points in the third period but pushed the lead back up to 11 at the end of 3 and never looked back.
Keegan Murray led the Kings with a career-high 30 points and 6 rebounds while De’Aaron Fox returned with 18 points in 29 minutes of action. Murray leads the team in scoring at 24.1 points per game while also issuing 6.2 assists per game. Domantas Sabonis is putting up a double-double this season with 18.6 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.
The Kings are the top scoring team in the NBA at 119.3 points per game. They are 3rd in field goal percentage at 49.3%. Sacramento is 7th overall with 13.5 three-pointers made per game. The Kings are also 5th in the league in assists at 27 dimes per contest.
Monday’s loss to the Kings was the Rockets’ third consecutive defeat. The team has lost 18 out of their last 21 games and they are in the bottom of the Western Conference team standings. Houston shot 50% from the floor and made 13 of 32 three-pointers against Sacramento but they were not able to stop the Kings from putting up the points on the scoreboard.
Jalen Green led the Rockets with 27 points and he is the team’s leading scorer this season at 21.6 points per game. Kevin Porter Jr. is putting up 19.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game for Houston while Alperen Sengun is averaging 15.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Veteran Eric Gordon continues to be productive at 13.2 points a night.
Houston is next to last in the league in scoring at only 110.1 points per game. The Rockets are also just 29th in passing at 22.5 assists per game. They are however 4th in rebounding at 46.7 boards grabbed per contest. Houston is also 25th in scoring defense at 118 points per game allowed.
The Kings are 7-3 SU in their last 10 games played against the Rockets. Sacramento is 3-1 SU in their last four games played in Houston.
Sacramento Kings SU trends:
Houston Rockets SU trends:
The Kings won 9 out of 12 game with De’Aaron Fox leading their offense. It did not come as a surprise when Sacramento dropped two in a row when Fox was sidelined by injury. He returned to the starting line-up last Monday and the Kings returned to their winning ways by beating the Rockets 140-120 to improve to 3–3 SU on their current road trip which ends on Wednesday night.
Fox played only 29 minutes in his first game back, scoring 18 points with 8 assists four rebounds, two steals, and one blocked shot. With Fox back, five other players scored in double-digits. Rookie Keegan Murray scored a career-high 30 points with 8 three-point makes.
Monday marked the 12th time this season that the Kings topped the 130-point mark, the most by any team. Sacramento is averaging 119.3 points per game with an offensive rating of 117.2 points per 100 possessions.
Meanwhile, the Rockets are headed to the lottery and enter Wednesday’s game coming off back-to-back blowout losses. Before Monday’s 20-point loss to the Kings, the Rockets were beaten by 32 points against the OKC Thunder. Houston has lost seven out of its last 10 games played overall.
Last Monday, the Rockets allowed the Kings to shoot 58.4% from the field while hitting a total of 21 three-pointers. Jalen Green led Houston with 27 points including 5 three-pointers while KJ Martin added 18 points. Veteran Eric Gordon also had a big game with 16 point and 8 assists but the Rockets still lost big time.
Sacramento has scored an average of 138 points against Houston this season while shooting 64.7% from the field. Winning on Wednesday shouldn’t be an issue.
Prediction: Sacramento Kings
The Kings are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games played against the Rockets. Sacramento is also 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Sacramento.

This is a matchup between the no. 1 scoring team in the NBA and the second-lowest scoring team in the league. Sacramento’s offense got its swag back with Fox returning to the lineup last Monday.
The Kings have won their three head-to-head meetings this season and all wins were by a margin of 20 points or more. With Sacramento getting Fox back, the offense should run like a well-oiled machine on Wednesday. Houston will give the Kings a good fight early on but in the end, they don’t have the firepower to match Sacramento.
Prediction: Sacramento Kings -8
The total has gone over in each of the last five games played between these two teams. The over is also 5-1 in their last six meetings in Houston.

The Kings have scored at least 135 points in their first three meetings against the Rockets this season. All three games had a total of at least 250 points. The Kings are the highest scoring team in the NBA this season at 119.3 points per game. They are likely going to engage the Rockets in a shootout on Wednesday. Houston has scored at least 110 points in each of their last 6 games played. I like these teams to hit the over.
