It’s East vs West when the New York Knicks visit the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Thursday night.

The Knicks look to improve to 3-0 U in their current road trip to the Western Conference. New York defeated the Utah Jazz 118-111 in Utah then went to Mile High the last time out to beat the Nuggets in Denver for the first time in 16 years. New York is 8-7 SU on the season and is third in the Atlantic Division team standings.

The Warriors lost their 8th straight game on the road the last time out when they were beaten by the Phoenix Suns 130-119. The loss was the Dubs’ 7th in their last 10 games played and the defending champions are 6-9 SU on the campaign, second-to-the-last in the Pacific Division team standings.

New York Knicks

The Knicks are 2-0 SU in their current five-game road trip. The Knicks are 8-7 SU and 7-7-1 ATS in those 15 games. The Knicks head to Oakland with plenty of confidence after the team picked up their first win in 16 years at Denver. Julius Randle led the Knicks with 34 points and New York rallied from a 10-point 4th quarter deficit.

Curry has been the lone bright spot for the Dubs as the two-time NBA MVP is averaging 32.8 points per game while shooting a team-high 53.1% from the floor. Draymond Green leads Golden State in passing at 6.7 assists per game while scoring 8.0 points per contest.

Meanwhile, Kevon Looney is the team leader in rebounding at 6.9 boards per contest, including 2.3 off the offensive glass. Andrew Wiggins leads Golden State with 1.3 steals and 0.9 blocks per game in 33 minutes of playing time. The Warriors’ All-Star forward is also pulling down 5.5 boards per outing.

The Dubs are scoring 117.5 points per game this season and are grabbing 41.4 boards per contest. Golden State is also averaging 29.0 assists per game this season.

Steph Curry scoring 50 points and the Warriors losing by double-digits is not a good sign for Steve Kerr. That means that Curry isn’t getting the support that he needs from his teammates.

Klay Thompson has not been the same since returning from injury. This season, Klay is just putting up 15.1 points per game on 35% FG shooting and 33% 3P shooting. Jordan Poole also had a rough night against the Suns as he scored only 2 points in 27 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, the Knicks aren’t a very good defensive team this season at 115.5 points per game allowed this season, good for 22nd overall in the entire NBA. The Dubs meanwhile are 4th in the NBA in scoring and the New York defense should have issues stopping Curry and the rest of the Golden State scorers.

If this were played in New York, I would have taken the plus money and the Knicks. But for all the Warriors’ struggles this season, they have been solid at home. Jordan Poole should bounce back from a poor shooting game while Klay Thompson needs to play better.

Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson are off to strong starts but the Dubs still have plenty of firepower to overcome the Knicks in a shootout.

Golden State’s defense also plays better at home, allowing 7 less points per game when playing at Chase Center. Meanwhile, the Knicks don’t have the defensive stoppers to put the cuffs on Curry and Poole. If Thompson shoots well, this one’s over in a hurry. Give me the Dubs to win and cover the spread at home.
