Juventus has lost just once to Parma in their last 10 head to head meeting. Juve has six wins and three draws during that period. They have hired Maurizio Sarri as head coach with the hopes of winning trophies using the exciting ball-oriented Sarri-ball. Sarri’s philosophy focuses on ball possession and positional play. They dictate the tempo of the game, move the ball around, rotate and switch plays. And of course, don’t forget his attacking trio which completes the plays.
The summer has been of changes for Juventus. Sarri’s tactics won’t be absorbed easily and there will be a period of adjustment. But with stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Miralem Pjanic and defenders like Chiellini, Sandro, and De Ligt, they are a better team than Pharma, Sari-ball or not. This team has excellent depth over most opponents and that alone is hard to beat. I’m picking Juventus to beat Parma on 8/25/19. Prediction: Juventus
