The struggling Seattle Seahawks visit the Washington Football Team at the FedExField in the Week 12 edition of Monday Night Football.
Seattle heads to Week 12 having lost two in a row and five out of their last six games, including a 10-point loss to the Arizona Cardinals as 5.5 point home favorites last week. The Seahawks have scored only a total of 13 points in the two games since Russell Wilson returned from injury. Seattle is now 3-7 SU and 5-5 ATS on the season.
Washington has won its last two games, including a huge upset of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers two weeks ago. The Football Team 4-6 SU but just 3-7 ATS in 10 games played this season. Washington is coming off a 27-21 upset of the Carolina Panthers as 3.5 point underdogs on the road.
The Seahawks were upset by the Arizona Cardinals at home last week. Russell Wilson completed 14 of 26 passes for 207 yards in the 23-13 loss. Alex Collins led the rushing attack but only had 35 yards on 10 carries while Tyler Lockett caught four passes for 115 yards.
Seattle ranks 26th in the NFL in passing at only 200.2 yards per game. They are 23rd in rushing at 98.3 yards per contest. The Seahawks are scoring only 19.4 points per game this season, 6th worst among 32 teams. They do have, however, the 7th best scoring defense in the NFL at 20.9 points per game allowed.
Washington followed up their upset of the Bucs with a 27-21 upset of the Carolina Panthers on the road last week. Taylor Heinicke completed 16 of 22 passes for 206 yards with three TDs without an interception. Antonio Gibson rushed for 95 yards on 19 carries while Terry McLaurin caught five passes including a TD grab for 103 receiving yards.
The Football Team is ranked 20th in passing offense at 224.9 passing yards per game and is 10th in rushing at 122.9 yards per game. They are 19th in scoring at 21.2 points per game and rank 29th in scoring defense at 26.7 points per game allowed.
Seattle is 1-5 SU in their last six games played. The Seahawks are 2-3 SU in five road games played this season, and 1-6 SU in their last seven games against the NFC. Washington is 2-4 SU in their last six games played. The Washington Football Team is 2-3 SU in their last five games played, and 1-4 SU in their last five games against the NFC West division.
Head to head, Seattle Seahawks are 3-1 SU in their last four games played against Washington Football Team.
Perhaps Seattle brought back Russell Wilson too early from his injury as the offense has not looked good in his two games back. Wilson has completed only 34 of 66 passes for 368 passing yards with zero TDs and 2 INTs while the Seahawks have gone 0-2 SU and ATS.
On the other hand, Washington is the opposite as they have gone 2-0 SU and ATS in their last two games, including a win over the defending Super Bowl, champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Wilson has been struggling, Taylor Heinicke has been great, completing 42 of 54 passes for 462 yards with 4 TDs and no interceptions while posting a career-high QBR rating of 91.1 last week.
When it comes to which team and which QB is playing better, this isn’t even a contest and the oddsmakers may be too gracious to Seattle. I think there is plenty of value in a Washington team that has the momentum and playing at home.
Prediction: Washington Football Team -115
Seattle is 3-2 ATS in their last five games played. The Seahawks are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against an opponent with a losing record, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games played on grass, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games played against the NFC, 1-5 ATS in their last six November games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games when picking up fewer than 90 rushing yards in their previous game, and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games.
Washington is 3-7 ATS on the season but 2-1 ATS in their last three games played. They are 4-0 ATS in their last four November games played, 6-1 ATS in their last seven Week 12 games, 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games after accumulating more than 350 total yards of offense in their previous game, 6-2 ATS in their last eight games after a straight-up win, and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games played after an ATS win.
Head to head, Washington is 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10 games played against Seattle. The Football Team is also 4-2 ATS in their last six home games against the Seahawks.

The return of Russell Wilson has not improved the Seahawks’ play this season. In his two games back, Seattle has scored a total of 13 points with both games ending in losses. The Seattle offensive line is banged up and they are thin at the RB position right now.
Meanwhile, Washington has started to gain momentum, or at least it looks that way, as they have won two in a row. Heinicke threw the ball well in those two wins and he could have two of his weapons in Curtis Samuel and Logan Thomas back as they are listed as probable to play in this game.
Washington is at home, has momentum, and is playing better football right now. With no plus points to lay, I’ll pick the Washington Football Team to cover the one-point spread.
Prediction: Washington Football Team -1
The total has gone under in seven out of the last eight games played by Seattle. The under is 4-1 in the Seahawks’ last five road games, 5-0 in their last five games after accumulating less than 90 rushing yards in their previous game, 9-0 in their last nine games when allowing more than 250 passing yards in their previous game, 4-0 ATS in their last four games after an ATS loss, 12-2 in their last 14 games against the NFC, and 10-2 in their last 12 games against an opponent with a losing record.
The total has gone under in four out of the last five games played by Washington. The under is 4-0 in their last four home games against an opponent with a losing road record, 4-1 in their last five games played on grass, 8-3 in their last 11 games after an ATS win, 5-2 in their last seven games against an opponent with a losing record, 5-1 in their last six games after accumulating more than 150 rushing yards in their previous game, and 9-3 in their last 12 home games.
Head to head, the total has gone under in each of the last four meetings between these two teams.

The Seahawks are the top UNDER team in the NFL with nine out of their 10 games unable to hit the total, including all five road games played this season. Seattle has scored only a total of 13 points in their last two games played and is averaging only 19.4 points per game 25th in the league. Add a defense that is ranked 7th in scoring defense at 20.9 points per game allowed, Seattle has the recipe for the under.
Washington has seen the total go under in three of their five home games this season. They hit four straight UNDERS before hitting the over in their last game against the Panthers. Washington is also ranked just 19th in scoring at 21.2 points per game this season. This should fall under the total.
