The Golden State Warriors head to the fabled Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.
Golden State is 22-5 SU on the season and they have the best record in the NBA as of the close of Monday’s games. The Warriors are coming off a close 102-100 win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night in Indiana and are 5-3 SU in their last five games played.
New York is 12-15 SU on the season and they are in the bottom of the Atlantic Division and 12th in the Eastern Conference, seven games behind the East leaders Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks have won just once in their last seven games and have dropped three straight games. In their last game played last Sunday, the Knicks lost to the defending champions Milwaukee Bucks 112-97.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors survived a close scare against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night. Golden State survived another poor shooting night from Steph Curry who shot just 8-20 from the field and 5-15 from deep. Despite Curry’s shooting woes, he still scored 26 points, including 5 in the final minute that forced a tie. He missed a game-winning three-pointer that would’ve tied Ray Allen’s all-time record but Kevon Looney scored on a putback to give the Warriors the win.
Golden State is the no. 3 highest-scoring team in the NBA at 112.5 points per game this season. The Warriors are 3rd overall in rebounding at 46.9 boards grabbed per contest and are the top passing team in the NBA at 28.4 assists per game. They also have the league’s best scoring defense at 100.4 points per game allowed.
New York Knicks
New York suffered its third straight defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks at the Garden last Sunday. The Knicks played without RJ Barrett and Obi Toppin who were placed in the league’s health and safety protocols and Alec Burks who was out due to a personal reason. Quentin Grimes scored 27 points for the Knicks while Derrick Rose and Kevin Knox each had 18 points while Immanuel Quickley had 11.
New York ranks 22nd in the league in scoring at 105.8 points per game this season. They are 11th in rebounding at 45.4 boards grabbed per contest and are 27th in passing at 21.5 assists per game. The Knicks have the NBA’s 17th ranked scoring defense at 107.4 points per game allowed.
Who Wins?
Golden State is 16-4 SU in their last 20 games played. The Warriors are 7-1 SU in their last eight games against the Eastern Conference. New York is 1-6 SU in their last seven games played. The Knicks are 5-9 SU in 14 home games played this season.
Head to head, the Warriors are 11-2 SU in their last 13 games played against the Knicks. Golden State is also 7-0 SU in their last seven road games in New York.
No matter what you say, Steph Curry’s recent performances have been affected by his chase of Ray Allen’s three-point record. But with the pressure about to be taken off his back as he needs just one three-pointer to tie and another one to own the record, this should be a sweet-shooting night for Chef Curry.
The Knicks are struggling right now with just one win in their last seven games. New York has been one of the lowest-scoring teams in the NBA this season but in four out of their last five games, they have failed to score more than 102 points. Julius Randle has been the lone bright spot for the Knicks as far as consistency is concerned. That’s not going to work against a Golden State machine that’s clicking on all cylinders right now.
Prediction: Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last five games played. The Dubs are 6-5 ATS in 11 road games played this season, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against the Eastern Conference, 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 games as betting favorites, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games when playing on zero days rest, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games after an ATS loss, 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games against an opponent with a losing straight up record, and 22-7 ATS in their last 29 games when allowing more than 100 points in their previous game.

The Knicks have lost six of seven and three in a row heading to this Madison Square Garden showdown. In four out of their last five games, the Knicks have scored 102 or fewer points, which is lower than their season average of 105.8 points per game, which in turn ranks just 22nd in the entire league.
That’s not going to help against a Golden State team that leads the league in scoring defense at 100.4 points per game allowed. Steph Curry will likely eclipse Ray Allen’s three-point record in this game and when he does, that huge monkey is going to be taken off his back.
Curry has struggled to shoot in recent games with all the attention going to breaking the streak. Now that he’s just two away from owning that record, I think he’s going to be more relaxed in this game than in previous ones. This could mean disaster for the Knicks.
Prediction: Warriors -4
The under is 19-6-1 in Golden State’s last 26 games played. The total has gone under in 41 out of their last 56 Tuesday games. The under is also 19-7 in their last 26 games as road favorites, 9-1 in their last 10 games after an ATS loss, 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games as betting favorite, 44-21 in their last 65 road games against an opponent with losing home record, and 36-15 in their last 51 road games overall.
The total has gone under in 9 out of the Knicks’ last 14 Tuesday games. The under is 19-7 in their last 26 games after a straight-up loss, 6-1 in their last seven games after a straight-up loss of more than 10 points, 11-3 in their last 14 games after a double-digit home loss, 20-8 in their last 28 games after an ATS loss, and 6-2 in their last eight games when playing on one day rest.

Golden State owns the league’s best Defensive Rating and the Warriors barely allow their opponents to score 100 points per game and are limiting them to just 42.5% field goal shooting this season. The Warriors are also playing in back-to-back games here so they will likely slow down the pace to get some rest.
New York is just 22nd in scoring and has struggled to score in recent games. The Knicks are also shooting just 43.8% from the field and have scored 102 or fewer points in four out of their last five outings.
The Warriors can be an explosive scoring team but they don’t need much of their offense to stop the Knicks. Golden State’s defense will do the job in this low-scoring affair.
